You Are Going to Die and 3 Things To Do About It

You are going to die.
Let it sink in.
Let it sink in some more.
Life today as you know will be concluding. You will take your final breath and then. . . .
The Bible puts this pretty simple and precise:  How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog–it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. (James 4:12)
You are going to die. Don’t worry. Everyone is going to die. We live everyday as if life as we know it continues without end, consequences, or repercussions.  We will not live forever.  In order to prepare for the final day we step from the temporal into the eternal, I would like to help you prepare for your last and final day.

Live everyday eternally driven not temporal .

You last moment on earth will be immediately be your first moment in eternity.  Where you spend it will be determined by whom you served.  The key to heaven is through Jesus Christ.

You will be rewarded in heaven for what you have done.  We are saved by grace and not works.  Yet, the Bible shares with us often our heavenly life will be determined by our works on earth.

Do good.

Because our works will determine our life in heaven, do good.  Value God’s eternal creation:  man. Only what you do for others will truly last and be eternal.

“When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad.” Abraham Lincoln said.  When you do good, you feel good and doing good has great eternal rewards in store you as well.

Forget the past.

Don’t live with regret.  Today is a new day.  Many die stressed about the past without truly living in the present and preparing for the future.

Rap artist and actress Queen Latifah said, “I made decisions that I regret, and I took them as learning experiences… I’m human, not perfect, like anybody else.” Your past is your school. Graduate from it and move on.

You are going to die.  When you prepare your funeral is up to you but prepare today for eternity.  It is coming quicker than you can imagine.
