Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37
Paul who wrote this in his letter to the Romans was a Roman himself and knew Roman conquerors and their history. The Roman empire did not achieve world dominance by being nice. They took it by force.
Paul knew the conqueror Flavius Aetius who killed 300,000 men. Aggrippa assisted Octavian seize control of the Roman Empire when he won his most famous victory, the naval battle between the Egyptian forces of Marc Antony and Cleopatra VII. Conqueror Lucius ordered the execution of 500 Macedonian soldiers and exiled many more. Constantine the Great would lead successful campaigns and conqueror the Franks, Alamanni, Visigoths, and the Sarmatians.
The great American General, George S. Patton, said regarding Roman conquerors:
For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeteers, musicians and strange animals from conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conquerors rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him.
God created man to have authority and dominion. He told man, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28
Man’s sin in the garden of Eden destroyed the power of dominion. Yet, Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection restored and returned the power within us through Him. In Christ, we have dominion, power, and authority.
You are more than a conqueror. You are empowered by the Holy Spirit. The same spirit who hovered over the waters of this earth in the beginning and created order out of chaos is living inside of you right now. The same power which raised Jesus Christ from the dead is living in you. The Holy Spirit which lives in you is greater than the spirit of the world. (1 John 4:4)
Beloved, you were created to live a powerful life in Christ. The Creator of the Universe resides inside of us and give us power and authority. Everyone has this power who is a believer in Christ. Taking advantage of it is your responsibility.
In the name of Jesus, I declare that my prayers are earnest and heartfelt. They connect me to the supernatural power of God. I seek after Him and experience His power in my life. In faith I humble myself, pray continually and turn from wickedness. I am confident that when I pray according to God’s Word, I am praying in line with His will and that He hears me. I believe I receive the manifestation of my confessions now!
