Double for Your Trouble

Have you been going through a storm? Having a bad season, month, year or even decade?  Have you been in the storm for so long you are beginning to think the storm is your new normal?  Do I have good news for you.

Job was a man who lost almost everything. He lost his children when a gang attacked his home.  He lost his property when a fire storm came and consumed them.  Another gang then came and stole more of his property.  His wife eventually pursuaed him to curse God and die.

The whole book of Job is a grieving Job sitting with his friends while they curse the God of Job.  Agonizing after agonizing chapter is Job trying to reason with himself, others, and his God. Yet in the end after a long agonizing time, we see God show up.  He blesses Job with the more blessing in the very last chapter before closing the book on the life of Job:

When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before! Then all his brothers, sisters, and former friends came and feasted with him in his home. And they consoled him and comforted him because of all the trials the Lord had brought against him. And each of them brought him a gift of money and a gold ring. So the Lord blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. For now he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 teams of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys. He also gave Job seven more sons and three more daughters. Job 42:10-13

Hang in there. What you are enduring during this time is tough.  What you are facing is not easy but don’t give up. Don’t give in on God. Don’t give up hope.

The Bible declares weeping endures but a season but joy comes in the morning. What you are going through is tough but hold on. Joy is on its way.  What doesn’t kill you today is going to make you stronger tomorrow.

God is not a taker. He is a giver. His a God who is more than enough. He is the more than enough blessing God and like Job He will restore everything stolen from you.

He will not only restore but He will restore double for your trouble.  He will give a double blessing for everything the devil has taken away from you. Make room. Whatever held your previous things is not going to be enough. Again, make room.

Watch what God is going to do in your life and know His eyes are on you in the middle of your situation. If He cares for the birds, He definitely cares for His children. He has not forgotten you nor left you. Endure the season knowing right around the corner, you will be getting double for your trouble.
