Still

Motionless. Unmoving. Not moving a muscle. Stationary. Quiet. Silent. Hush. Undisturbed. Calm. Peaceful. Serene. Tranquil. Waveless. These are all synonyms for the word still.

Like a parent who is talking to their active child to be still, there are times God bids us to be still, become motionless, hush our mouths, and be calm.

There is both a peace and agitation in being still. It wrecks our soul yet energizes our Spirit man.

Throughout time, there were seasons where God wooed man to be still. For it is in the stillness, we can hear his voice – the still small voice Elijah heard when seeking God.

The Creator of the Universe loves to move in the stillness of our soul so He can whisper to our Spirit man on how to move forward. Noise permeates us all throughout the day and everyday yet when stillness exist, it causes us to listen.

Be still today. Hush. Be stationary. Quiet. Silent. Open your ears, your heart, and yes, even your eyes and listen for the still small voice to speak.
