Word of Wisdom from the Wise

Pastor Russ Taylor serves leaders and pastors in their roles today as a counselor, advisor and confidant from his years of experience in ministry, pastoring and missions work. I have asked Pastor Russ Taylor to provide wisdom for these times we are facing.

When the crisis is over things will not automatically go back to the way they were. You will be presented with the unique opportunity of establishing a new normal. There are things you may not want to restore. On the other hand, there could be new behaviors you may want to continue. Choose wisely.

This past Sunday, our pastor stated that we have pressed the “pause” button on many things. His challenge is for us to carefully evaluate each thing before hitting “resume”. It’s a perfect opportunity to make changes.

Make a list of things you have paused plus the new or different things you have started. Now list the negative and positive impact of each item has had on you and/or your family. Your goal is to strengthen the positive and to reduce the impact of the negative. I strongly encourage you to involve other members of your household in this process.

So now you can pick out what’s true and fair, find all the good trails! Lady Wisdom will be your close friend, and Brother Knowledge your pleasant companion. Good Sense will scout ahead for danger, Insight will keep an eye out for you. They’ll keep you from making wrong turns, or following the bad directions Of those who are lost themselves and can’t tell a trail from a tumbleweed, These losers who make a game of evil and throw parties to celebrate perversity, Traveling paths that go nowhere, wandering in a maze of detours and dead ends. Proverbs 2:9-15 MSG
